“Nano-conversion technology”: An ignored but novel & unique field of nanotechnology

A  REVOLUTION IN THE INDICATOR/MONITOR TECHNOLOGY

Most of scientists working on nano structures think of their unique properties, how to make and characterize them, develop products based on them…and so on

Very few think of the science and products that can be developed by destruction, conversion or modification..etc…of nanostructures

Most of us see a half-filled glass as half empty (pessimist) and/or half full (optimist).. etc. We never see that every glass is always full and over flowing with air. Likewise, we barely see about 100 Angstroms (10nm) aluminum layer and its naturally formed oxide layer (1-3 nm) of metallized plastic films as two dimensional giant (world’s largest) nano structures

JP Labs has invented (US Patent Application # 20090301382 and others pending) a large number of novel classes of products based on destruction of nanostructures

One such class of products tradenamed Nano-Indis include about 20 different classes of self-reading and idiot proof  indicators, for example, those for monitoring time, temperature, time-temperature, freeze, thaw, pressure, humidity, UV/sunlight, toxic chemicals and sterilization with steam, ethylene oxide, peroxides, plasmas, formaldehyde and high energy radiation

Nano-Indis are based on a simple reaction, corrosion (destruction) of a nano thin layer of an indicator/aluminum of a metallized plastic film with a non-toxic activator (an acid, base, salt or their pre-cursors)

When an acid, base or salt reacts with (etches/dissolves) the opaque aluminum layer, the layer becomes transparent. A message and/or color printed under the layer becomes visible

There was a need and no indicator/monitor technology was available which:

Is self reading and idiot proof

       Provides unlimited colors and messages

Provides long induction period with two message of go and no-go

       Is highly accurate

Is machine readable and remotely readable

       Is very economical

Is suitable for individual unit as well as for a container of units

       Universalize the indicator technology

Nano-Indis have these and many other desired properties and fills that technological gap

IT WILL BE A REVOLUTION IN INDICATOR TECHNOLOGY
